Hello Lovelies!! I am back! YES, YES, YES!! I can't tell you how much I have missed you. This week has been such a torture for me--as you could imagine from my last post. There are some things going on in my life that I have been trying to figure out and deal with. Not to say that it is all over, wounds healed, I'm completely renewed, but it is better. For now I can deal with that.
As to shake off my idling blues and press the refresh button on my frozen human screen I figured there's no better place than to start with a post called "Wear the Trend". When I see the latest and greatest style--the next best thing--I am tempted to have it and make it my own. The only problem is sometimes while holding it in my hand and evaluating it in the store, I am not sure how I would wear it. Moments like that a girl needs a visual before committing and thanks to Polyvore I can do so prior to buying. Thank you Fashion Gods for Polyvore!!!
When looking at the wedge I figured I needed to think out of the box. Yes it's a sneaker...but it's a wedge. A wedge is at times a bit more comforable than say a heel or pump--don't quote me on that. With that in mind, I decided to have a bit of fun with the casual black and nude "pumps".
This black wedge found at Target is a fun way to play around with some of your dressy skirts. It adds a touch of urban chic with the neon accessories and denim jacket to a flirty black feather skirt. Rock them with your favorite band T-shirt or a killer sleeveless collared shirt with a bow and I'd say this look is a true showstopper--or party starter.
For a casual outfit, these tan wedges from Payless give height to this sweet layered look. Pops of color and sparks of gold add flare to the casual footwear. It's the relaxed, laid back cousin of the ever classic nude pump.
The more I look at these shoes, I am starting to feel confident that I could pull this style off. Of course I don't want to buy a pair that's too trendy looking or expensive since, let's face it, trends don't last for long. As the fabulous Heidi Klum would say "One day they're in the next they're out!" I just love her and Project Runway! These two wedges are great options to try the trend out while not blowing your budget.
How do you feel about this trend? Would you try it and if so, how would you style yours?
