Think Pink + a Giveaway Wink! - CLOSED

Hello Lovelies! So, I am sure you may have seen a lot of pink around last month. It was "painted" on websites, in stores, even on the delicious looking football players' uniforms in the NFL.....ZOWIE!!!.....excuse me while I wipe the drool from my mouth. The sweet, girly shade you saw all around was non other than a sign that Breast Cancer Awareness Month was well underway.

Throughout the month, many companies and brands offered lots of products to help promote awareness and show their support. In purchasing one of those items you would not only be getting a fabulous piece or product for yourself, a percentage if not all of the proceeds of the cost would go to the breast cancer foundation of the seller's choice. I think that's a win, win situation don't you? There were so many goodies out there I loved and wanted to purchase to help show my support, but I had to narrow it down to my favorites.

Think Pink

I loved that the brands and companies were putting a twist on their products. From Bloomingale's "little pink bag" to Movado's signature design available in pink, there were so many great selections to buy in support of Breast Cancer Awareness.

Needless to say October had me tickled pink (sorry, I couldn't help myself), so much so that I decided to hold a little "pink ribbon" giveaway of my own. I put together a little goodie box of sweet pink items that I hope you would find fun and just out right girlie.

Cruise Withdrawal

Hello Lovelies! I am back!! Did you miss me? I sure missed you....no, really I did! I know people say that when you're on vacation you should allow yourself to be relaxed and un-plugged, but I can't tell you how fast I started checking my email and catching up on a weeks worth of things that I missed when I got back.

Overall, I had a blast on the cruise. Everyday I experienced something new. The week seemed to fly by. There was so much to see and do...and eat! I am sure that I gained at least 10 pounds since Day 1 of the cruise. I guess if there is anytime to gain, now would be appropriate for the upcoming winter months. I'll just burn it off in the spring...that is if I can avoid those yummy chocolate eggs that stalk me around easter time...darn you easter bunny!!

Along my 7 day journey sailing the big ocean blue, I enjoyed so many things. From the spectacular sights, to the delicious food, my heart was entranced and held captive in the stimulation of paradise. If I was to tell you everything that I enjoyed during the week, this post would be an endless monologue that I am sure you would not want to hear...It would be colorful though with lots of pictures and funny stories. To save some time and to keep you from nodding off, I thought it best to share some of my favorite things, more like highlights. Come take a journey with me :)

The Food...

My taste buds were literally dancing in my mouth everyday. From the moment I stepped foot on the ship, I was offered delectables beyond the eye could see...and my stomach for that matter. Breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, the list of options could not be beat. Every night we dressed for fine dining and received nothing less than first class. For the first time I ate escargot, de-shelled of course. They were prepared with herbs and a melted butter sauce that I could not stop dipping the bread into. It was amazing! I honestly didn't think I would like it, you know with them being snails and all, but the texture wasn't bad. Needless to say I had them every night for my appetizer.

The Art...

All around the boat were eye-catching displays of colorful art. The walls of the deck stairwells were lined with international pieces of photos, paintings, carvings, and jewelry. Stores along the Promenade deck displayed windows filled with precious gems and clothing. There was not one spot on the ship that depicted a sense of bland. Every wall spoke for itself.

The Park...

Literally dubbed Central Park, the gorgeous, lush garden graced the center of the ship. This was one of my favorite spots to walk through, especially at night. Entrance to the park was located on our deck so I would walk through it all week long to get from one side of the boat to the other. There was a wall of foliage in the center of the park that was lit throughout the night. Bird chirps sung throughout the park lending a calming soundtrack to the beauty of the full moon at night. I enjoyed walking through the park to see the night sky above. It was calming and rejuvenating to see the stars without the sounds of the city screaming at me.

The Fashion...

Getting dressed was sooo much fun on the cruise. I was concerned that I may have overpacked my suitcase for the trip, but no doubt I wore everything I brought with me. Of course there were multiple outfit changes, but that's okay. You're supposed to do that on a vacation right? It felt great to dress up for dinner every night. With a pretty dress, heels, styled hair, and makeup I was always prepared for a night on the town--in this case the boat. Since we were on the ship for Halloween, I decided to jazz up a little more. Personally I don't celebrate Halloween, but I love having an excuse to put an extra fabulous outfit on, hence my Janelle Monae inspired look.

The Shopping...

On the ship and the islands were a bounty of shopping excursions and opportunities. Every night, the ship had shopping events--one of the most popular being their $10 sale. They had all kinds of items from clutches and jewelry for the formal nights to hats for the beach and pashminas for the cooler evenings. I ended up buying a red gem bracelet that I absolutely love. With all the shiny objects it was hard to resist the temptation to splurge.

The Scenery...

When it comes to traveling, there is nothing like taking the scenic route. The ocean was so peaceful with the waves performing a silent dance. It was amazing waking up every morning and having breakfast on the balcony as we docked into our next port. Each island had its own unique quality and the sights to match. If only the pictures could capture the emotion I felt taking in the beauty of it all. Simply put, it was breathtaking.

My week vacation was an amazing experience I will not forget. I plan on making another trip soon, possibly somewhere transatlantic. We'll see how that goes! I have high hopes for it. For now I will linger in my happy thoughts of paradise in hopes that they will consume me and bring me back to the islands one day.
