Flower Power for Lunch

Hello Lovelies! NYFW is at an end (sniff, sniff) and though I wasn't able to see the fabulous runway shows in person (so sad) I am really enjoying reading the highlights online. After my amazing experience at the Lucky Fabb conference last week and meeting so many creative bloggers, I thought it was about time to pump up my personal style. So I decided to revamp my wardrobe with a bit of flair, including my lunch bag. I must admit I am one of those people who brings my lunch to work in one of those plastic grocery bags that seem to just build up in landfills and your house. Yes, I am guilty as charged. One for not being as green as I know I should be. Two for having a frumpy get-up for my deliciously chic lunch (if I do say so myself). Coincidentally, my friend Laura was having a "Thirty-one" trunk show. At first I was hesitant to go because I never heard of the company, but once she told me they sell bags, I was sold!

There were so many options of bags in the catalogs she handed out. Though the totes and accessories bags were tempting, I had my mind set on purchasing a lunch bag. My objective was to look for something that was functional, practical, and had a whole lot of fashionista quality about it. It also needed to be fun and include some pink, being that pink is my favorite color and all. :)

After much deliberation and comparison in design, I went with the Thermal Tote in the Free Spirit Floral print. My goodie arrived a few days later in a sweet little polka dot bag with the company name. How did they know I love polka dots? Those silly mind readers had my heart already! Peeking out the bag was a little thank you note that Laura had slipped inside. How sweet is that! Now that is what I call customer service with a smile!

Immediately I removed the polka dot packaging and revealed the beautiful bag that would grace my arm everyday for work. The Thermal Tote is a good size. It is big enough to fit my lunch and snacks for the day, but compact enough so I don't feel like I'm carrying a lunch bag.

I LOVE the floral design I picked out for the bag not just because there is pink in it (tee-hee) but because there are two styles of floral. On one side there is a pocket that spans the length of the bag in a clustered, smaller floral with the bigger floral version on top. On the other side of the bag the bigger floral pattern continues with hints of the smaller floral peeking throughout.

I must say that I am feeling very stylish with this lunch bag. No more frumpy brown paper bags or flimsy plastic grocery bags for this lady. Nope. Now I am high and stylin' with my fashion thermal tote!

Thirty-one has so many other bags besides this lovely thermal tote. They offer a wide selection of styles and patterns that can fit your personal taste. You should check them out. Or better yet, check out my friend Laura's site. If you have any questions about any of the bags, totes, etc. she would love to answer them for you. I for one recommend this stylish tote for any girlie guru who is looking to add a little spunk to her afternoon meals.

That and maybe a few wine spritzers to carry along...just saying.

  1. That is a nice idea to the alternative plastic grocery bag.
I usually collect some of the nice paper bags from shops - piperlime was my favorite, but victoria's secret has been serving me well.

My coworkers love to make fun of my lunch bag choices, anyway.

Maybe I should consider something sensible and stylish as well!
