Thin Mints in the Zoo

This weekend my husband and I took our daughter to the local zoo since entrance for all of us was free. Saturday entertainment with animal know how for the kiddie and a relaxing, non-wallet draining time for the parents. It was an offer we couldn't refuse, a win win situation. The weather was beautiful with clear blue skies and delectable temperatures, so the opportunity to spend the day breathing it in couldn't have come at a better time. Since we were going to be outside most of the time, I wanted to wear something that I not only would be comfortable walking around in but felt pretty enough as to not blend in with the exhibits. There would be no wearing of animal print today...

With 80 plus degrees, shorts and a light weight top were in my styling forecast. This Forever21 shirt was perfect for my zoological excursion because it not only is sheer and a pretty mint, but it has a high-low cut hem, which is a big trend now. Who figured? I hope the hem style stays around for a long time, because I think it is flattering...especially in covering my sightly...a-hem lower, lower back if you get my drift.

The virescent tone of the top compliments nicely with the brown shorts giving a feeling of thin mints. I like thin mints so this combination came natural to me. Not to mention it is also the color of nature :)

Along the shoulders and upper back of the collared beauty is delicate lace. It's a hint of peek-a-boo without showing a lot of skin. Though the shirt is slightly sheer itself, with a nude camisole underneath my minty concoction is still sweet.

I continued the brown tones with the accessories and shoes, adding touches of gold here and there for a bit of sparkle.

This outfit was fitting for our day at the zoo. Without a doubt, I enjoyed my day observing the animals...not standing next to them.
